Earthen Flow

Hand-building for kids ages 10-14

ThursDAYS 5:30-7:30pm | Jan 16th - Feb 13th

In this class, you will explore foundational hand-building techniques—pinching, coiling, and slab-building—while weaving in the therapeutic power of clay as a medium for self-expression and regulation. Each session focuses on the importance of flow: creativity, the rhythmic connection between hands and clay, and the inner adaptive experience. Incorporating natural materials like leaves, bark, and stones for texture, you’ll deepen your connection to the earth and life cycles. The creative process becomes a space to explore your emotional landscape, cultivate mindfulness, and embrace resilience. You’ll be invited to explore, create, and develop reliability with clay.

Materials and tools are included.

MEET CLARA

Clara, a first-generation American raised in the Hudson Valley of New York grew up exploring both cities and forests. A lifelong learner of sculpture, writing, music, and movement, Clara embraces the idea that "one must be off the mark to find it," seeing transformation as a constant process. Rooted in curiosity, consistency, and embodiment, Clara invites others to learn through participation. Whether Clara is facilitating dance, ceramics, therapy, or wheel based adventures she believes that creation is an evolving journey where the process holds as much meaning as the outcome, reflecting ongoing discovery.
