Hand-building CLass

Mondays 5-8p, September 16-october 28

This 7 day course is designed for beginners and will cover the basic hand-building techniques of pinch, coil, and slab. Students will leave the class with a variety of finished vessels and the skills to independently advance their craft. 

This class will be taught by Emily Johnson who is a high school ceramics teacher, avid climber, and talented quilter.

Beginner/intermediate wheel class

Tuesdays 6-9p, october 1-november 5 2024

This 6-session course will cover the basic pottery process starting with clay prep, going over all the through to glazing a finished piece. Students will practice throwing techniques for various shapes and sizes, along with several decorating techniques. Each student will receive individual instruction, will leave with new skills, and some finished pieces of pottery!

All materials and tools are included.

This class will be taught by Kara Frampton who is a full-time potter who has taught for 3 years, a plant enthusiast, and dance lover.

Kids Clay CLass

Wednesday 3-5p, october 2-november

An introduction to clay and mindfulness for kids 10+ and older.  Great for a Wednesday after school activity, kids will learn general throwing and hand-building skills. They will have the opportunity to use the wheel, slab roller, extruder, and learn how to center, pinch pots, build with slabs, carving and surface decoration over the course of 6 weeks.

This class will be taught by Luma Jawad who you might have seen in the Northwest Farmer’s Market this summer, or walking her sweet dog Bowie around town when taking a break from her busy production schedule.
